Growing

So. It is Friday night. I'm 22.  I should be out on a date.  Or at the movies.  Or hanging out with my friends.  Ya know, something!  I'm pretty sure that's what most people my age are doing.

But I'm not. I'm home transferring my past year's financial information to my new accounting software. In my sweatshirt.

Yes. I'm a special kind of lame.

But after hours of typing, trying to figure why the balance is off by $.02, and wondering why I've spent so much, I get up the courage to look at the profit and loss.  And to my surprise, it wasn't in the negative. It was actually really good, at least for me.  Better than I was hoping for honestly.  And it isn't ANY where near where I want it to be.  But to see on paper that this thing I started while I was in college just 2.5 years ago is growing is so, I mean soooooo, exciting to me.  Like I'm kinda near tears out of happiness (told ya, a special kind of lame).

I often think I've lost my mind for trying to do this.  I usually feel like I know just enough to be dangerous.  I always feel like I could have done better.  And I wonder if another session or wedding will ever be booked.  Normal worries for a business owner.

But tonight I promise to not worry about tomorrow.  Tonight I'm doing the "Holy crap, look what I did!! This is actually a real business!!!" dance around my room with my computer.  :)

Ashly and Jon || Dallas Wedding Photography

Giggles and excitement danced around that dressing room like the way women in elegant ball gowns and gentlemen in suits with tails would fill an old grand ballroom.

It was contagious. Captivating. Beautiful.

The first looks are one of my favorite parts of a wedding day. I photograph 2 separate people full of excitement and nerves all day.

But then I watch them come together and I get to see the world vanish in their eyes.

She takes his breath away and holds her hand as if reassuring her with just that one touch that he will always be here by her side. forever.

They said no one can make her smile like he does. I believe them.

This wedding was photographed with the amazing Kelly Alexander Photography.

Tin Cans Are Rattlin' On The Pavement, Confetti Scattered Everywhere

I got the fabulous opportunity to second shoot for Daisy Photography Studio at The Hickory Street Annex and The Stoneleigh Hotel.  It was a great wedding! The groom has a son and a daughter, the kids were too much fun!  You'll see the son showing me his ninja skills further down in the blog!

Because a blog is better with music, here is one of Lady Antebellum's new songs, Heart of the World. Love it! The lyrics are so sweet and gorgeous. I've been listening to it all day!
